Angeila got in touch with me last year and told me her story, and why they were doing the vow renewals. Married ten years, and they both dealt with a number of biological setbacks that crushed plans for their future, putting them both in depression that they’ve recently come out of. Their lives are different than they thought they would be at this point, and that’s why they felt the need to do a vow renewal, a recommitment in the face of the circumstances that they’ll never have children, what they both most wanted in the world.
I’ve never had a bride as outgoing and vivacious as Angeila. The peacock feathers in her hair can’t share her laughter, happiness, or that she’s immediately best friends with everyone in close proximity, but she’s a force of nature and has such a beautiful spirit. I spent an hour with them for their night ceremony with Reverend Schulte on the veranda of the Kehoe House and was pretty pleased with what we got, but I’m more pleased that I got to know her and Adam, and that I got to add another couple to list of Brides and grooms that I adore.
