Savannah Wedding Photographers | Choosing a wedding photographer

There are thousands of people, maybe tens of thousands, that get married every year in Savannah, GA and the surrounding areas. Some are courthouse ceremonies, some don’t want photography for whatever reason, and some are related or have best friends or family members that are famous photographers. The rest are looking for someone like me.

The weddings and couples I shoot have some general traits in common:

  • They really care about getting good images.
The moments matter.

The moments matter.

  • They want something a little… Different.
Once you know your bride and groom, the possibilities are endless.

  • They want to look good in their wedding images.
Angles matter. Light matters. And setting matters. Knowing how to put it all together takes more than a camera.

  • They want to have their images on disk so they can have some control later on.

  • If they do want prints, they want beautiful fine art prints they’ll still be proud of in 15 years.
Even with group shots, a more candid setting is possible with planning, and it looks so much less contrived.

  • They don’t want any pressure and they don’t want to be sold.
Sometimes, the setting is what it is and you just have to go with it, and get the best image possible, even without setting up lights, because the moment is what matters most.

  • They don’t want a set number of images, they want all of the images that don’t make them look bad.
With a limited number of images, sometimes you lose images that you (or someone else) might really treasure later on.

  • They want a quick turnaround on their images, without compromising quality.
I love history, and I love incorporating old things into shots if at all possible.

  • They want all of their images edited, at least for exposure, contrast, sharpness, white balance, highlights, and shadows.
My goal is not to take pictures of things when doing events, it's to capture moments so that feelings and emotions can be recalled later on.

After the safe shots, I like to branch out if there's time.
